Mikel Arteta has stated that the summer transfer window will be big for Arsenal. Last week, Carlo Ancelotti received a response from Martin Ødegaard. As a teenager, the Norwegian was underestimated by Ancelotti, who was also Real coach at the time. The Turkish international has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months, but now it is reported that the London club have intensified their pursuit of Güler and are aiming for a signing this summer.
Former chief scout at Manchester United, Mick Brown, said in September that Arsenal saw Güler as an alternative to Ødegaard and more breadth in the squad, now there have been new movements.
“Arsenal scouts have looked at him on a number of occasions. It reminds me a bit of the Ødegaard deal, he has struggled at Madrid, but can get a chance at Arsenal,” Brown told Football Insider.

“It can be difficult to make a true assessment of his abilities when he’s just coming off the bench, so that’s something they’re going to work,” Brown continued.
