Arsenal, Liverpool and PSG are circling towards the biggest signing of the summer. If one of the three clubs is to secure Alexander Isak’s football services next season, the big money will have to be pushed across the table, or as PSG does, add three players to the bid. In the coming months, efforts will be made to ensure that the three big clubs go home empty-handed from St. James’ Park this summer.

On Tuesday, Newcastle presented figures showing a 28 percent increase in turnover, but the Premier League’s rules for profitable and sustainable club operations will still limit activities in the transfer market this summer – if the club does not sell players.

Isak is by far one of the most sought-after strikers, for Arsenal and the Liverpool striker who has cracked the code in the Premier League. For Newcastle, the Swede is the club’s most important attacking weapon and crucial for a Champions League ticket.

With only £140,000 in weekly wages (poor Isak), the salary level is far below what he can get from the suitors. Newcastle are now preparing for negotiations with the super striker to deny Arsenal, Liverpool and PSG access in the summer.

The Times asked Newcastle boss Darren Eale if they could offer Isak a contract that “reflects his growing status”.

“We’re going to be ready, he’s got several years left on the deal, So all these things, we’ll have the discussions in terms of a new deal, just like we did, whether it’s Joelinton, Bruno or Anthony Gordon. It’s something we will get closer to in the summer,” the Eagles begin to the English newspaper.

When asked if Newcastle will sell key players to secure income, the answer was blunt.

“It’s a part of the world we live in, the reality is that all our players are under long-term contracts. They are committed to the club, so from that perspective we are not looking to move any players forward. It would be crazy for us to consider it [selling stars],” the Newcastle boss said.

Newcastle are thus on the offensive in persuading Isak to continue to invest in St. James’ Park. With contracts expiring only in 2028, there is in theory no rush, but everyone knows 4th place in the Premier League and Champions League ticket must be secured.
