After a lengthy and chaotic transfer process this summer, Europe’s hottest striker Gyökeres finally landed at Arsenal. With 54 goals in 52 games last season, expectations are almost inhumanly high for the Swede. Erling Haaland handled the pressure masterfully when he was brought to Manchester City as the hottest striker, Ben White is convinced Gyökeres does the same.
Two goals in three Premier League games show the 27-year-old is well on his way to establishing himself in the world’s toughest league, the same league he was weighed too lightly for during stints at Brighton and Coventry. Arsenal teammate Ben White spent several years with Gyökeres as young players at Brighton, the English right-back praises the Swede.

“I know him very well. We played together at Brighton for a long time, maybe three or four years, and I could already see that he was going to be big. When he came to Brighton and the club’s U21 team, you could see that he had something special,” White begins to Arsenal’s website.

“We were always the ones who went up from the youth team to train with the A-team all the time, so we spent a lot of time together. It’s funny how things can happen. We both rented out to different places, and now we’ve ended up in the same place again, but with very different paths there,” White continues.
Who knows better than most what lives in the Swedish striker.
“He’s a monster. He lives for goals. He is a constant threat. You really don’t want to be in the way when you’re playing against him, because he’ll just move you out of the way anyway,” White boasts.
The Premier League’s defenders have been warned.
