Arsenal will be hoping to beat Manchester United in the race for the signing of Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their attack with at least two new players this summer, and have now put Trincao on their wish list after his impressive performances this season.

The 25-year-old Portuguese has scored nine goals and provided 18 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions for Sporting this season. Ruben Amorim reportedly wants to reunite with the international at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are currently focusing on a transfer for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha. But Trincao has been heavily linked with United over the past few months, and the transfer hunt could intensify once the sales of Antony and Marcus Rashford are confirmed.

Arsenal, who are now focused on keeping second place in the Premier League, take on Bournemouth later today, Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal goes on the attack

According to Spanish Fichajes, Arsenal have now entered the race for Trincao and are willing to offer him an annual salary of €3 million.

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to bring in a new winger to relieve Bukayo Saka, and Trincao has reportedly been identified as the perfect target ahead of the summer transfer window.

The former Barcelona player has only two years left on his current contract with Sporting. Although the Portuguese giants want to tie him down to an extended deal, a summer departure looks likely due to significant interest from several top European clubs.

Arsenal’s plans of attack

Although Arsenal have shown interest in Trincao, FootballTransfers understands that Athletic Club’s Nico Williams remains the club’s desired winger signing. In addition, the Gunners are also chasing Viktor Gyökeres, Benjamin Sesko or Alexander Isak, as Arteta is looking for a striker who can help the club to Premier League gold next season.
