When Kai Havertz signed for Arsenal, the marketing department was overly eager. A picture of the German wearing an Arsenal shirt was posted, this before Chelsea had notified their own supporters that the player ran away to their city rival. Blunder deluxe, or planned miss? We are not told, but when a somewhat similar mistake is repeated the following year, then it is allowed to wonder.
On Friday, Arsenal presented Noni Madueke as a new player. Also from Chelsea, but this time it went right. Then came the miss.

Arsenal didn’t just boast about Madueke signing, they just as well published a picture of Cristhian Mosquera in an Arsenal shirt. A photo that has later been deleted again. The 21-year-old had already said goodbye to Valencia, something Havertz did not get to do with the Chelsea supporters before he appeared in an Arsenal shirt, but Arsenal were clearly not ready to announce the news to their supporters.
