Arsenal are ready to pay Newcastle United’s asking price for Alexander Isak, while other media claim that another top striker is on his way to the Emirates Stadium.

The fact that Arsenal again failed to win the Premier League this season has revealed the harsh reality that the club is in dire need of a striker. Gabriel Jesus is not a goal-scoring attacker, and Kai Havertz is not a natural number nine. Therefore, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are eager to resolve the situation in the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, already reported in November 2024 that Newcastle star Isak is Mikel Arteta’s “dream target”.

However, Newcastle are determined to keep Isak and as a result have set a price that would normally scare, but Arsenal seem to be hanging on still themselves or demanding around €150 million.

There have been reports that Isak is “open” to a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window, and now it is claimed that Arsenal are ready to match Newcastle’s desired price for the Swedish international, who was described as “world class” by Newcastle legend Alan Shearer on BBC Sport in January 2025.

Fichajes reports that with an offer that could reach €150 million, Arsenal will succeed in persuading Newcastle to let go of Isak.

Isak has scored 62 goals and provided 11 assists in 108 appearances for Newcastle so far in his career.

Newcastle are aiming for a top-five finish in the Premier League this season and qualification for the Champions League, just like Arsenal.
