Luke Shaw is a likeable guy who likes absolutely everyone. He was one of the few who liked ex-manager Erik ten Hag, he was even sad when Ralf Rangnick had to leave. Of course, he also likes to play for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

Jose Mourinho is one of those who have wanted the English left-back, but Fenerbache’s finances are not strong enough for both a significant buyout and a salary adapted to play at what was the Premier League and the world’s best club.

There are a few days left until the winter transfer window opens, by which time Manchester United man Ruben Amorim will make a final decision on the future of Luke Shaw. – The left-back is currently out injured, which is not a good thing when almost everything at Old Trafford is up for consideration.

There is not much fun in Manchester United at the moment anyway so any exit is described as an escape route, now a perfect one from Serie A has appeared.

Reunite with Scott McTominay!

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has got his bosses to make a bid as early as January. Luke Shaw has been at Manchester United for more than a decade, he joined from Southampton for around £30 million.

The left-back has scored four goals in 278 appearances for United in that time, and the club won two FA Cups, a couple of League Cups and the Europa League. However, Shaw’s time at United has been disrupted by injuries and has only made three appearances so far this campaign.

A recent sustained comeback from a calf injury was eventually put on hold after Shaw took to Instagram to confirm that he had suffered a “slight setback” in his attempt to return to action for United and play more under new boss Ruben Amorim after featuring in games against Ipswich Town and Everton.

“It hurts a lot to write this, as I really thought I had made it through my last few games and was on a positive path forward, but unfortunately I’ve had a little bit of a setback,” Shaw’s statement read.

“I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs, but this has definitely been my toughest period. I’m completely devastated and it’s extremely tough to come to terms with reality at this point.

“I understand that there may be people who are frustrated, angry, disappointed, and I understand all that. There is no one who feels it more than me at this time.

“But what I can promise is that I will do everything I can to come back better soon to help this club achieve its ambitions this season. Thanks to everyone for their support. It really doesn’t go unnoticed and I really appreciate it. “

Shaw’s deal with United runs until the summer of 2027, but some fans are questioning whether he can be trusted to stay fit and injury-free for extended periods.

According to reports in Italy via Football 365, Napoli are said to be considering “testing the ground” and are “thinking about” approaching United for Shaw’s services.

Napoli are led by ex-Chelsea and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, who recently raided the Premier League.

Billy Gilmour came from Brighton, while Shaw’s then-United teammate Scott McTominay moved to the Italian club and has flourished there in Serie A.

It is also claimed that “the next few days will be decisive” in determining Shaw’s availability.
