When the Danish player signed for Rennes in the summer of 2024 and met the Danish press as a new national team player, he sent a heap of praise to Bodø/Glimt and the work being done in the Eliteserien. This was the last time we saw a delighted Grønbæk. Jens Petter Hauge and Philip Zinckernagel returned “home” to Bodø/Glimt after a few tough seasons out in Europe, now Grønbæk is encouraged to do the same.
In 2024, Albert Grønbæk “narrowed” down the door to his debut on the Danish national team. After the first matches with brilliant play, Danish journalists were almost in a state of shock: “What has happened to this player?!” What had “happened” was a stay with Bodø/Glimt and Kjetil Knutsen. A year and a half later, the 24-year-old has disappeared from one bench to another on club teams, while his ticket to the Danish national team has been withdrawn. This week, it is reported that the Dane is changing agents.

In other words, the choice of Rennes, Southampton and now Genoa has not been a sporting success for Grønbæk. It looks impressive on the CV and the money flows into the salary account, but for a young player like Grønbæk, it is the time at Glimt with plenty of playing time, titles and joy of playing that provides lasting memories – and development.
When we wrote this week Albert Grønbæk realizes he has to do something after the Bodø/Glimt exit, with the Dane’s change of agent, there were quickly comments and reactions to the Facebook share. It is clear that Grønbæk is wanted back by Glimt supporters, here are some of the comments:
“He just has to do one thing! The most sensible. Come back to us Albert!”
“Come to Bodø, the team needs you.”
“Come to Glimt.”
“Have to hang on to the others, come home to Bodø and Glimt.”
“Gather in Glimt!”
“Missing in Glimt!”
“Go back to Bodø.”
“Come home to Bodø.”
