Ozcan enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2022-23, making 19 senior appearances for Kasimpasa. He scored his first senior goal that season at age 16 years and 276 days, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the league that season.
He has since gone on to make 77 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, including 21 this season. Only Mamadou Fall (1,775) has played more minutes among outfield players than Ozcan (1,761) for Kasimpasa in the competition.
The 18-year-old centre-back, known for his impressive performances at Kasımpaşa, has caught the attention of the English side, who view him as a valuable addition to their defense for future seasons.

Aston Villa’s director expressed excitement over signing Özcan, stating: “Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Yasin Özcan from Kasımpaşa.” His contract with the club extends until 2030, indicating Villa’s commitment to developing the young talent.
He is set to join other prominent defenders on the Aston Villa roster, including Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres, as the team looks to strengthen its defensive line.
With this transfer, Yasin Özcan becomes just the second Turkish player to represent Aston Villa, following Alpay Özalan. This move is not only significant for the player but also for Turkish football, as it marks another young talent making strides onto the European stage.
Özcan has established himself as one of the noteworthy defenders in the Turkish league, and fans eagerly await to see how he will adapt to the Premier League’s fast-paced environment.
