Atletico Madrid are looking for another player to complete their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season. Several targets have been identified after a deal for Enzo Millot fell through, and one of the players being considered is one of Manchester United’s most notorious outcasts.
Raspadori first priority – Sancho on the backup list
At the moment, Atletico are prioritizing a transfer for Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori, who has agreed personal terms with Los Colchoneros. The clubs must now agree on a transfer fee, and while there is optimism, nothing can be taken for granted after the Millot drama.

As backup options, Atletico have identified several players, and one who has caught the interest is Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
According to Sport1 (via ED), Atletico are interested in signing Sancho, who has been told that he will have to leave United before the transfer window closes. The 25-year-old winger, who was offered to Barcelona 12 months ago, is also sought after by his former club Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho transfer very unlikely – for several reasons Manchester
United are willing to accept a loan, with demands for a loan fee of €5 million. While this may appeal to Atletico, there are likely to be concerns around covering a significant portion of Sancho’s salary, which is considered very high.
In addition, Atletico currently have no room for Sancho, as the three non-EU spots in the La Liga squad are already occupied by the Argentine duo of Thiago Almada and Nahuel Molina, as well as Englishman Conor Gallagher. None of these three are expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes, making a Sancho transfer highly unlikely.
