After a successful period with Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga, Magnus Knudsen now returns to AGF Aarhus.
Yet another Norwegian has become part of the AGF squad, and this time it’s an old friend. Magnus Knudsen will once again pull on the white jersey when he returns to AGF on a contract that lasts until the summer of 2030.
Knowledge of the club and the city is seen by AGF’s football director Carsten V. Jensen as one of the many pluses with Magnus Knudsen. “It’s an advantage that he knows the club and the city, just like the club and the city know him. But first and foremost, we get a player into the club who fits our DNA. He is aggressive, dynamic and forward-looking, he can cover several positions, and he can make a difference for us. And it means a lot – also in terms of our strategic approach – that he is not only a man for the future, but also a player who can come in and contribute from day 1 – both on and off the pitch.”

The Danish top club can rightly call itself the Norwegian club with as many as four Norwegian players.
New Norwegian to Danish top club
Midfielder Magnus Knudsen (24) is leaving German side Holstein Kiel and has signed a contract with Danish AGF in the Superliga until 2030.
AGF took the winter break at the top of the Superliga table, four points ahead of Midtjylland.
Knudsen has previous experience from the club, as he played on loan for AGF in the 2023/2024 season. During that stay, he recorded 36 games and three goals. In total, he played 53 games for Holstein Kiel.
In AGF, he will be teammates with three more Norwegians. Goalkeeper Mads Hedenstad Christiansen recently joined the club from Lillestrøm on a contract until 2027. According to AGF, Knudsen will join the club’s training camp in Alicante immediately.
Markus Solbakken and Kristian Arnstad also play for the club from Denmark’s second largest city.
