Barcelona are working on getting rid of four players who are definitely not part of the German manager’s plans.
Hansi Flick has shown his new authority at FC Barcelona by calling for four players who are not part of his plans for the 2025/26 season to leave the club. The German coach wants to start pre-season with a defined and functional group, and has explicitly called for Iñaki Peña, Ansu Fati, Oriol Romeu and Pablo Torre to find a new club before July.

The most complicated case is Ansu Fati. His departure has been difficult due to his high salary, which has prevented a deal with Monaco – one of the clubs interested. Nevertheless, Flick does not count on the winger in his new project and sees his departure as necessary to free up salary money and space in the attack.
Barcelona do not count on them
Oriol Romeu, who has just returned from Girona, will not be taken into account either. His style of play does not fit with the pressing and dynamic philosophy Flick wants to implement in midfield. Currently, there are no formal offers for him, but the club is already working to find him a new club.
Pablo Torre awaits a different fate: he will be loaned out. Villarreal is the most likely target, where he could get game time under Marcelino’s guidance. Flick values his potential, but believes he still needs experience outside the Barça environment.
Finally, Iñaki Peña is out of the picture after the arrival of Joan García, who will take a leading role in the goal. The young goalkeeper will have to find a new club if he wants to continue his development. Sporting director Deco has already started the work of carrying out these crucial departures at the start of the new project.
