Deco has had quite a task since he was hired as sporting director at Barcelona in the summer of 2023. The chaos surrounding Xavi when he announced his retirement at the end of the season remained, only to be sacked. Deco brought in Hansi Flick, at the same time as La Liga hung over the club to impose penalties for unsustainable club operations. Barcelona and Deco come out of the season as winners of La Liga and Copa del Rey, now the Barca legend talks about the plan in the Premier League.
-We like Luis Diaz from Liverpool, and then we like Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. There are also other players we like. When we go out on the market, there are names that we know and who could improve our team,” Deco told RAC1 a week before the transfer window opens.

Before the sporting director reminds himself that he can’t really talk about Diaz or Rashford.
-But we can’t talk about players who are under contract at other clubs, says Deco.
Both players have been linked with the La Liga giants for the past six months, but this is the first time Barcelona have confirmed they have targeted the two strikers.
