Liverpool have closed the door on the Colombian player’s departure, forcing the Blaugrana to look for other options.

FC Barcelona have decided to change their offensive planning and abandon the idea of signing Luis Díaz. Instead, they are now focusing on three top options to bolster their attacking line: Marcus Rashford, Nico Williams and Ademola Lookman.

Liverpool’s refusal to enter into negotiations for the Colombian player has pushed Barcelona’s sporting management to explore more realistic options, given the club’s challenging financial situation.

The three wingers Barcelona have on their radar

Marcus Rashford:
First on the list is Rashford. The Englishman is not experiencing his best spell at Manchester United, and although he has a contract and performed well on loan at Aston Villa, a departure is being considered. There is speculation at Camp Nou about a loan, but a permanent transfer is not ruled out if there is a significant player departure. His speed and international experience make him an attractive profile for Hansi Flick, who has given the go-ahead for his interest.

Nico Williams:
At the same time, Nico Williams is reappearing as a clear priority. The Athletic Bilbao player fits perfectly into Flick’s plans and also has the support of president Joan Laporta. His buyout clause of around €65 million is the biggest hurdle, but Barcelona do not want to repeat last year’s mistake and will make a clear decision before the transfer window closes.

Ademola Lookman:
The third option is Ademola Lookman, Atalanta’s attacking star. His more affordable price and versatility make him a serious option if the other two options don’t materialize. The new coach believes his direct style of play can provide immediate solutions on the wings, which is one of the current squad’s weakest points.

Barcelona’s attacking plan is underway
The club is now working hard to secure one of these profiles to strengthen the team before the start of the season.
