Dutch Patrick Kluivert will forever be on top lists of the world’s best strikers. – A brilliant career as a player has so far not been exchanged for such a brilliant career as a manager.

48-year-old Patrick Kluivert will be the national team manager for Indonesia.

A motley career has brought Kluivert to four continents and assignments as an assistant and head coach for both club and national team.

He has been the assistant for the Netherlands, youth coach for Ajax, sporting director for Paris Saint-Germain, permanent and later interim national team manager for Curaçao, (an island with 160,000 inhabitants off the coast of Venezuela) assistant for Cameroon and most recently manager of the Turkish club Adana Demirspor.

Sky Spors reports that Kluivert will take over the role of national team manager for Indonesia in January. Indonesia is currently in third place in their World Cup qualifying group, ahead of Saudi Arabia, among others.

The assignment will be Kluivert’s fourth for the national team. He has previously held assistant roles in the Netherlands and Cameroon and had the main responsibility for Curaçao. The latter country is an autonomous island in the Caribbean belonging to the Netherlands and where Kluivert’s mother is from.

At the end of November, Patrick Kluivert was a natural guest in the celebration of Barcelona’s 125th anniversary.
