It’s definitely going to sell for Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, who was slated for the role of “stand in” when Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski started to slip.

Barcelona, which is Vitor Roque’s definitive dream club, has according to Spanish media that must be a real downer. His understanding before his loan to Real Betis was that he would return to Barcelona after the loan was over, now he has been told he has no future at the club.

Barcelona tells a €60 million star that he has no future at the club

The Brazilian’s dream transfer to his favorite club has been nothing short of an unresolved disaster. Expectations were sky-high for the 19-year-old when Barcelona in the summer of 2023 for a whopping €30 million upfront with potential another €31 million in bonuses, expectations for the 19-year-old were sky-high.

Roque had starred for Athletic Paranaense in his native Brazil, and he initially stayed with the club after his signing. The original plan was for Barcelona to bring him to Catalunya the following summer, in 2024.

However, the Spanish giants decided to move his transfer forward in time to the winter window, and this premature arrival proved fateful. His first six months at the club were a nightmare as Roque barely played, prompting his agent to threaten a quick summer exit. – It was not so well received.

With Barcelona desperately in need of offloading players to comply with La Liga’s financial rules, they agreed to send Roque on loan to Real Betis.

Roque has no future at Barca
Betis even managed to secure a purchase option of around €25 million, but it is not entirely clear yet if they will trigger it. Given the club’s financial problems in recent years, it seems unlikely.

Roque has had a varying season. He scored in his second game for the Sevilla-based club, but then struggled to perform. Recently, however, he has become a regular starter, although goals in La Liga are proving difficult to come by.

The 19-year-old has so far netted three times for Betis in league play, and while it is still unclear whether they will sign him permanently, it is already obvious that he does not have a future at Barcelona.

At least that’s according to Sport, who claim that “it is clear that Vitor Roque will not return” to Catalunya after his loan from Betis. The Brazilian had no shortage of suitors this summer, so Barcelona seem convinced that they can easily sell him next year.
