The prospect of a big sale continues to hang over Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad in the final week of the summer transfer window. The German manager has declared that he does not want to lose any more of his players, having already lost starting defender Inigo Martinez, but could see the squad weakened further.
This possibility runs through the mind of Fermin Lopez. The Catalan club have been promoting his name as a potential sales candidate for months, and Chelsea have reportedly shown interest in Lopez, amid conflicting reports of a transfer for the 22-year-old.

Fermin Lopez considers offers from Chelsea
Lopez, who spent the week in the Balearic Islands enjoying his days off, seriously considers Chelsea’s offer. This is according to information from Cadena Cope, where Helena Condis Edo explains that Barcelona tried to contact Lopez on Tuesday, but did not receive a response from the Spain international. Their attitude is that they will only approve a sale for the right offer, and if Fermin himself asks to leave the club.
Chelsea
were apparently willing to pay €50 million for Fermin, but Barcelona would only consider selling Lopez if the offer was for €70 million or higher. The Blues would theoretically more than double his salary if he moved to London, and he could get a bigger role. Lopez was seen in conversation with Flick before spending the game on the bench against Levante at the weekend, and looked even more disappointed not to be able to get on the pitch.
Hansi Flick and Fermin Lopez on a transfer
Last Friday, Flick declared that he did not want to lose Fermin, and that he was very happy with his attacking midfielder. At the same time, just two weeks ago, Lopez himself responded to the interest from Manchester United and Chelsea and said that he was eager to stay at the club. It seems as if the situation is changing.
