Bayern Munich worked openly and hard to secure Florian Wirtz’s signature this spring. The Bundesliga giant still had to give up. The 22-year-old chose a different path than playing for Bayer Leverkusen’s biggest rival for the league title. Now Wirtz wears the Liverpool shirt in pre-season, but the Bayern management has this week signed a player who seems as important as a Wirtz in a Bayern shirt.
Luis Diaz is in place at Bayern Munich, it is not often that we have heard the Bayern management use superlatives of this magnitude when presenting a new signing.

“Luis Díaz is an internationally experienced player with tremendous quality, great skill and high stability. He will be able to help the team immediately. We are happy that we have brought him to FC Bayern. Such transitions only succeed when all the pieces fall into place. Then the Bayern boss comes in:
“With Luis Díaz, we have secured one of the Premier League’s best left wingers. He comes to FC Bayern as a player with extraordinary qualities from Liverpool FC – and he has won titles at all the clubs he has played for. This was a determined effort by the entire team, and we look forward to a top-class international player who will bring important energy to our squad and at the same time enrich the Bundesliga. We would also like to thank Liverpool for the always fair and serious negotiations,” Bayern boss Jan-Christian Dreesen told the club’s website.
Luis Diaz will wear shirt number 14, with a contract until 2029. A new chapter is being written together with Harry Kane at the top.
