After turning 18 last month, Karl became the youngest German – and Bayern player – to both score and provide an assist in a single Champions League game.

Karl wasn’t the only Bayern player to set a milestone. At 16 years, 1 month and 27 days old, Filip Pavic became the youngest player to ever play for FC Bayern in the Champions League when he entered the second half.

Along with Pavic, 18-year-old Deniz Ofli also made his professional debut that night. His main moment came just after he was substituted, when he captured the ball and launched the attack that led to Bayern’s third goal.

Board member for sport, Max Eberl, praised both debutants after the game and said:

“Both of them fit in very well; There was no noticeable decrease in quality.”

The next opponent for Bayern Munich will be Real Madrid. (Two of Europe’s best teams as I have heard Norwegian football experts say)
