Far too expensive, is the signal coming from the sky blues after they see what a huge interest there is in Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. The interest is enormous and there are a lot of zeros in my bids.
Although the interest is still there, Manchester City have found that the price they had to pay would be far too high.

BBC Sport reports Manchester City have pulled out of a possible transfer for Leverkusen’s star player Florian Wirtz, who has been high on the wish list of several top clubs in Europe.
Great interest, but too high price
Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City have been mentioned as the three main candidates to sign the renowned striker. – There was talk for a while that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who according to Transfermarkt is worth €140 million, would join his manager Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid.
The reason is said to be that the transfer fee for the German star will be extremely high – so high that it will beat the current record transfer in the Premier League (Moises Caicedo from Brighton to Chelsea) by a clear margin.
Manchester City have already signalled they are willing to pay €150 million, but it will not be enough. The latest signals are that the price could reach an insane 300 million euros, which would be a world record. (Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain worth 222 million euros is still the most expensive)
Manchester City do not believe this reflects the player’s real value, and have therefore chosen to end their interest.
Thus, it seems that Bayern Munich and Liverpool now stand as the strongest candidates to secure Wirtz’s signature – if any club is even willing to match Leverkusen’s demands.
