Arne Slot “jumped after” Jürgen Klopp last season – and jumped further. Klopp left Liverpool with a Premier League title, but all the way back in the 19/20 season. “It’s strange, isn’t it, when you talk about Slot auditioning to keep his job when he has recently won the Premier League,” Rooney begins.
Then comes Rooney’s analysis of Slot, where the Dutchman is missing one of the most important things for the long run.
“I’ve met him a couple of times, but I just don’t think he has that aura (charisma, charisma) for Liverpool, and maybe it’s because Liverpool have just come after Jürgen Klopp as manager. It’s hard for anyone to do that, but I just don’t think there’s thataura around him,” says the English icon.
Rooney adds on Slot’s potential exit from Liverpool: “I’ve spoken to managers and I know they can be difficult at times, but if he doesn’t get them (Liverpool) in the top five in the Premier League, he’ll be gone, for sure.”
