It is quite clear that Molde is no longer one of the big clubs when it comes to what happens on the pitch, money on the other hand Kjell Inge Røkke from exile in Switzerland makes sure that there is enough of it.
It has been clear for a few weeks that this year’s Eliteserien gold is between reigning champion Bodø/Glimt and Stavanger club Viking, who are surprisingly good. – Bodø/Glimt, who have one game less played than Viking, are one point below and are in other words in the lead.

Bodø/Glimt crushed Molde with a clear 4-1
On Saturday, Viking was similarly impressive with a 5 – 1 victory over Bryne at Lyse Arena.
Bodø/Glimt delivered an impressive and dominant performance from the first whistle, and the first goal felt inevitable. It came after 15 minutes, when the team rolled the ball quickly between them, and captain Patrick Berg finally put the ball into the goal from around 15 meters.
The fact that Patrick Berg was responsible for the goal was a fitting tribute. Because on this exact day 50 years ago, his grandfather, Harald Berg, helped win the cup final for Bodø/Glimt against Vard.
After the cup gold in 1975, Glimt became Norway’s favorite team and gained fans all over the country. They probably still have that popularity, even though times have changed. The team is now chasing Viking at the top of the table, and after Sunday’s win they are only one point behind.
Bodø/Glimt are on an unusual streak. They just beat Sarpsborg 5-2, and even though they lost to Galatasaray in the Champions League, there is little to indicate that the energy is starting to ebb.

With the same starting eleven as in the previous four games, Glimt’s play was controlling. Patrick Berg’s left foot was a constant threat in the first half, including when he hit a free kick that hit the crossbar – a save Molde’s goalkeeper barely managed.
After 36 minutes, Glimt striker Kasper Høgh was sent off in the box, and Sondre Brunstad Fet scored the penalty impeccably to make it 2-0.
It was therefore a small blow for the home team when Molde reduced the deficit just before halftime, after a brilliant run and finish from Oskar Spiten-Nysæter.
The numbers underlined how one-sided the game was: possession was 82-18 in Glimt’s favor after 20 minutes, and 77-23 at halftime.
For Molde, who now have interim coach Magne Hoseth, the defeat was the fourth in the last five games.
But Bodø/Glimt did not give up. In the second half, Håkon Evjen locked the victory to 3-1, and substitute Andreas Helmersen steeled the score to 4-1.
After the defeat, Molde now find themselves only five points ahead of the qualification place, which is currently held by Bryne.
On Wednesday, Bodø/Glimt can take the lead in the table. Do they take at least one point against Brann, and go past Viking on the basis of a far better goal difference. – Molde welcomes Rosenborg, who also have a lot to revenge after losing 2 – 3 against Brann at Lerkendal.
