No one jumps off Bodø/Glimt’s success train unless they have to. – The success of the club north of the Arctic Circle is unique in Norwegian and Nordic football history. Star goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, who will soon be Norwegian, will have her share of the credit. The UDI has now received all the application papers from Haikin for citizenship and if they are a little quick, national team manager Ståle Solbakken has the opportunity to bring a brilliant Bodø/Glimt goalkeeper to the World Cup.
On Wednesday in the Champions League match against Sporting at home at Alfheim, Nikita Haikin kept a clean sheet and in all likelihood he will also guard the Bodø/Glimt goal in the second leg on Tuesday.

Very good news this week both for Bodø/Glimt and for Norway.
Nikita Haikin has signed a new deal with Bodø/Glimt. The contract binds him to the club until the summer of 2027.
Glimt confirms this on their website.
“It feels fantastic, and it’s the right choice. A smart choice. ‘Cause I’m home now
His previous contract originally expired in the summer. The new agreement has been extended by one year.
Haikin joined Glimt in 2019 and has over the years developed into a mainstay in the club’s golden age.
“We have had a fantastic journey together. I know the club well, and the club knows me. Norway is my home. I am happy to be part of Bodø/Glimt and will continue the journey together with the team,” he says.
In 2023, Haikin visited Bristol City in England, but quickly returned to Glimt. Now he is back for good.
