We have been calling for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s return for several years, now the United legend stands as the favourite to lead Manchester United once again. It’s not just supporters who are calling for Solskjaer clean-up, now there are reports of meetings between Ole and the management.
On Tuesday evening, The Athletic and Sky Sports report that Solskjaer has been in talks with United management about taking over the responsibility directly as head coach.

Now absolutely everything is in place for Ole to return.
When Sean Dyche took over Nottingham Forest from Ange Postecoglou in October, the rotten English coach stated that he was tired of fashionista coaches who come with their football and are supposed to entertain and play “real” football at all costs. For Dyche, it’s all about taking one game at a time, adapting to the opponent – and doing absolutely everything on this matchday to win. This is the recipe in the world’s toughest league!
Dyche’s criticism was directly aimed at Postecoglou, who at both Tottenham and Forest was supposed to play in a certain way. Earlier, the native English Dyche had lashed out at Ruben Amorim and jokingly stated that he himself had won several games with Man Utd as coach.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer follows the same rule as Dyche. At the end of the day, it’s about whether you’ve won the match, not how you played. When Solskjaer surprisingly took over from Jose Mourinho and sat down with the United players, stripped of confidence, it was with the knowledge that he knew how Man Utd could be lifted throughout the season.
The Red Devils immediately stopped losing, Solskjaer led the club to a strong 6th place and Europa League ticket – and the foundation for next season’s 3rd place, then 2nd place, was laid.
Solskjaer went in and started with the players United had, spent more time creating calmness, energy and belief in victory, than changing the game. United in 2025/26 need exactly this. The difference here is that Amorim’s principled belief in 3-4-3 must be adapted to the opponent.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is anything but a “fashionista coach”, he makes sure to get the job done. After meetings with the United management, we are waiting for the confirmation. With Solskjaer, Man Utd know exactly what they are getting. No need to hesitate.
