Now Sander Kartum does not have to be a Trønder in Bergen anymore. – Brann has sold the 29-year-old the Hearts who are struggling these days in the Scottish Premier League.

Hearts write that Sander, who is the club’s distant purchase this winter, strengthens manager Neil Critchley’s attacking options. Neil told the club’s website: “It has been a very positive transfer window so far and I am delighted to welcome Sander to the club. After a successful season for Brann, he will bring a wealth of high-level experience to the Scottish Premier League. Sander is technically a very gifted player, with the ability to connect the team in the middle of the pitch and also provide an attacking threat in the final third.”

“He will bring much-needed balance to our team, and we look forward to seeing him play in maroon.”

Sander Kartum thanks for his time at Brann: “It has been very special for me to play for Brann, and the time at the club has given me a lot. The experiences and friendships I have made, I will always greatly appreciate. The fans have been absolutely fantastic and the support they’ve given us no matter where we’ve played has been incredible.”

The Scottish club has struggled this season and is in second-to-last place (11th) after 23 games. However, that only separates three points from seventh-placed Dundee.

Kartum started his career in Stjørdals-Blink before moving on to KBK in 2021. There he did his business well, and eventually he was sold to Brann.

“My best memory has to be when we beat Bodø/Glimt 4-1 in front of a packed Brann Stadium. The boiling and the atmosphere that was there is something I will always remember. It has always been a childhood dream to play abroad. Getting the opportunity to live in a new country, with a new football culture, was therefore the right step in my career.

Fire legend Roald “Kniksen” Jensen played for Hearts between 1965 and 1971. Bjørn Maars Johnsen was the last Norwegian player there in 2017.
