At the end of last year, Danish Johan Lange had the dubious pleasure of taking over from Fabio Paratici as sporting director of London club Tottenham. Paratici, who after a series of questionable decisions left the ship to take over Fiorentina at home in Italy, cannot take responsibility for interim manager Igor Tudor, but Johan Lange, who probably has a short time to prove his worth. Johan Lange, who was promoted from being technical director, has had the same job at Aston Villa and FC Copenhagen.

No is said to have invested absolutely everything in getting Roberto De Zerbi in place. talkSPORT reports that he will be the third highest paid manager in the Premier League, while the Daily Mail believes that he will be the second highest paid manager passed by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

It was completely out of the question for Roberto De Zerbi to accept a short deal, but now Totteham have reportedly made an offer with a long term.

Spurs said goodbye to interim boss Tudor on Sunday afternoon, who lasted just 43 days in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Adi Hütter was initially linked with the vacant Spurs role, but ruled himself out on Sunday night. De Zerbi, who left Marseille last month, was initially reluctant to return to club management before the end of the season.

On Sunday, De Zerbi was told the main reason why he should reject Spurs’ approach by Italian journalist Daniele Fisichella on Trans Euro Express.

However, the north London club found a breakthrough with the Italian on Monday, reaching an agreement with him on Tuesday, and De Zerbi will now become the club’s third manager of the season.

In that regard, De Zerbi will become the third highest-paid manager in the Premier League, behind Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta.

Arteta is currently paid in the region of £15 million by Arsenal.

De Zerbi’s contract is expected to include relegation clauses, meaning his salary will be reduced if they are relegated and he chooses to continue in the Championship.

Simon Jordan delivered his verdict on Spurs’ impending hiring of De Zerbi at White & Jordan with Martin Keown on Monday morning.

And Jordan believes that the only thing the Italian is good at is “creating chaos and unrest”.

De Zerbi has previously been manager in the Premier League with Brighton.

“De Zerbi is creative, yes, he’s good at creating chaos and turmoil with the people he works for,” Jordan began.

“But he’s a good manager and at the end of the day, you have to put the players in the conversation.

“The players go out and execute the result. How can the players possibly be exempted from the result?”

De Zerbi’s first game in charge at Spurs, if hired, will be his trip to Sunderland in mid-April.

Tottenham then follow up the game at the Stadium of Light by hosting De Zerbi’s former Premier League club, Brighton.

The relegation-threatened Premier League club then finishes the season with games against Wolves, Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea and Everton.
