What is about to become this summer’s transfer saga takes another round. Bryan Mbeumo has become part of Brentford’s tenderloin after he was brought in from French side Troyes in 2019.
The BBC reports that Manchester United have received an improved bid of up to £62.5 million for Bryan Mbeumo rejected by Brentford.
United made a bid of £55 million plus £7.5 million in bonus schemes for the 25-year-old.

Earlier this month, Brentford turned down a bid of £45 million plus up to £10 million in bonuses for the Cameroonian striker.
United’s attack hunt continues
United are looking to bolster their attacking line-up after signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m earlier in the transfer window.
According to sources, Brentford will demand at least the same amount as Wolves received for Cunha – and preferably the full amount in cash – before agreeing to sell Mbeumo, who still has one year left on his contract.
Mbeumo’s impressive season
Mbeumo recorded the best season of his career with 20 goals and nine assists for Brentford last year.
Signature Contest
United could face competition from other clubs. Tottenham’s new manager Thomas Frank – who previously worked with Mbeumo at Brentford – is interested in a reunion. Other Champions League clubs are also said to show interest in the fit winger.
Key points:
- Third rejected bid: United will probably have to make even higher offers
- Brentford’s hard line: Demands at least £62.5 million in cash
- Frank factor: Tottenham’s manager knows Mbeumo well
- Goal production: 20 goals last year shows his quality
