Well down in an article about Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou being almost immediately relevant for a new job in the Premier League if he is fired, Fourfourtwo mentions that Bodø/Glims head coach Kjetil Knutsen is also in the running.

Of course, it is Bodø/Glimt’s historic success in Europe that does it, but he has been relevant before. And now he can create his own competitor by beating Tottenham in the Europa League.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou looks set to leave the club at the end of the season, regardless of whether he wins the Europa League or not. For the first time since 2007/08, Tottenham are on track to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League, and Postecoglou is now under increasing pressure from chairman Daniel Levy. But even though 2008 was also the year Spurs last won a trophy, Postecoglou could still be sacked even if he achieves success in the Europa League.

Several names have been linked to replace the Australian manager, with Niko Kovac from Borussia Dortmund and even Scott Parker mentioned as potential successors. Whether this will happen remains to be seen, but The Telegraph underlines the clubs’ declining confidence in Postecoglou as the season has progressed.

Postecoglou will not be short of offers

If Postecoglou is fired from Tottenham, his coaching career will still be far from over. After previous success with Celtic, in Japan and Australia, the 59-year-old is unlikely to be short of interested parties.

Rumours are already starting to link him to new Premier League jobs.

Leeds United shows interest

According to the Daily Express, Postecoglou has emerged as a possible candidate for Leeds United, who are considering replacing Daniel Farke before their return to the Premier League in 2025/26.

Although Farke has secured Leeds’ promotion with two games to go, the Daily Mail suggests that the club is already looking for options to ensure survival next season. All three teams that were promoted from the Championship last year were relegated straight back – something Leeds want to avoid.

Therefore, they want a more experienced Premier League manager, and Postecoglou fits that description. With an attack-oriented style reminiscent of Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds fans will likely be looking forward to seeing a high tempo at Elland Road again.

Jose Mourinho and Kjetil Knutsen also on the list

The same report also mentions José Mourinho as one of five candidates on Leeds’ list, with Bodø/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen considered the most likely choice, given their previous interest in him.
