Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has received an offer of over €230 million to leave Manchester United this summer – in other words, an extremely profitable deal for the Portuguese playmaker

It’s sad times at Old Trafford these days, after the Europa League final loss to Tottenham, there are signals of new dismissals of employees from owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and that all players are for sale, including their captain who has been one of the few bright spots in recent years.

Losing Bruno Fernandes will be a huge blow to Manchester United, but things can’t get much worse than they are now. But a possible transfer fee of 120 million euros is too good to refuse.

The sale will go a long way towards making up for the “loss” of not qualifying for the Champions League: Simply qualifying for the 2024/2025 Champions League will give each team approximately £2.3 million more than achieving the same the previous year. The total prize pool for performance-based payouts has increased from £513 million ($651 million) to £771 million ($1.02 billion) – an increase of as much as 33%.

Al-Hilal ready with monster bids

According to The Daily Mail, Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are ready to pay the incredible sum for Fernandes. With an estimated market value (ETV) of 55 million euros, they will pay far above his real value.

What will Fernandes’ salary be in Saudi Arabia?

Al-Hilal is offering Fernandes a three-year contract worth €231 million – which gives him a lot to think about. The total package for the Saudi Arabian club will thus be worth over 350 million euros.

The Portuguese star will receive a salary of €77 million a year – a massive salary increase from the current €18.5 million he earns at United.

Last game for United already this weekend?

With only two years left in his career at the top level, Fernandes must carefully consider whether to accept a life-changing sum by moving to the Saudi Pro League. Al-Hilal are still looking for a superstar to replace Neymar, who left the club in January.

Although Fernandes is a completely different type of player to the Brazilian, he will be a marquee name that the team can be built around.

Thus, Sunday’s game against Aston Villa could be Bruno Fernandes’ last for Manchester United.

Such a transfer would be one of the biggest in football history, both financially and sportingly. But the question is whether United can handle losing their most important player – and whether Fernandes is willing to trade prestige for a gigantic paycheck.
