Bruno Fernandes is listed with 3 goals and 8 assists in 10 Premier League games under Michael Carrick. Needless to say, the Portuguese loves playing Carrick football, and shows productivity in front of the opponents’ goals we have to go back to Solskjaer’s time as United manager to experience. This week, Fernandes was asked which former Man Utd player he would love to share the pitch with. The answer was surprising.
Because with all the icons Manchester United have had in the squad under Alex Ferguson’s regime, there is plenty to choose from. The choice still falls on Michael Carrick. Well, after steering clear of Wayne Rooney for “natural reasons”.

Bruno Fernandes was asked the question in an interview on Men in Blazers.
-You have many: I wouldn’t say Rooney, because he played in about the same position as me. So I would be on the bench, and that’s not fun,” Fernandes begins with a smile.
With icon Rooney ruled out, Fernandes believes United legend Michael Carrick would be the perfect Red Devils star he would have had on the pitch.
-I’ve said it many times. Now it’s going to sound strange, but I’ve said it many times: Michael Carrick,” Fernandes continues.

“Because I’ve trained with him when he was here under Ole, and sometimes he trained with us, you know, as number six, and put the balls between the lines, and he was fantastic,” the United captain boasted.
-As number 10, you want the ball to come to you as soon as possible. He was incredible at timing the passes, you know, controlling and getting the passes. Sometimes it’s not about having the ball for as long, but as quickly as you can, making your teammate as free as possible. And he was good at doing it. And for me as number 10, it’s perfect to have someone at the back who knows how to release the ball quickly so that I get the most out of the space I can have,” Fernandes said.
