Arsenal’s highest-paid players: Saka and two teammates ready for salary hike
Arsenal continue their strategy of tying their best players to longer contracts, and Bukayo Saka is one of three players who are ready to rise on the list of the club’s highest-paid players.

In yesterday’s Tuesday Champions League match at Fortuna Arena, he was a natural part of the starting line-up and provided the first goal on penalties in a game that Arsenal won convertably 0 – 3 over Slavia Prague.
With the second-highest wage bill in the Premier League – behind Manchester City and ahead of Liverpool – Arsenal have put together a top-class squad that leads the table with a whopping six points. This season, they hope to finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy, but they don’t want any success to be a short-lived phenomenon.

In recognition of an opportunity to continue building in the long term, Arsenal have already struck new deals for players such as William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri in 2025.
Next in line is Saka, who is set to receive a significant increase in his current salary of £195,000 per week.
But he is not the only Arsenal player who is in the spotlight for a new deal. Goalkeeper David Raya and defender Jurrien Timber are also expecting salary increases, from £100,000 per week to £150,000 per week, and from £90,000 per week to £200,000 per week, respectively.
So who are Arsenal’s highest-paid players at the moment, and how is this about to change?
Arsenal’s highest-paid players
- Kai Havertz – £280,000 per week
The highest-paid player at Arsenal is currently Havertz, who was brought in from Chelsea in 2023 and signed a five-year contract worth £280,000 per week. Havertz could also earn an additional £50,000 per week in bonuses, but has recently been out injured and, despite his lucrative income, does not necessarily have a guaranteed place in the starting line-up to return to. - Gabriel Jesus – £265,000
When Jesus signed a five-year contract in 2022, Arsenal hoped that their new recruit from Manchester City would be the striker to take them to the next level. It has not quite turned out that way, and Jesus – who is currently injured – has been linked to a departure next year. - William Saliba – £250,000
Arsenal’s latest contract extension before the upcoming string of new deals was for Saliba, who extended his stay until 2030. After establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best defenders, Saliba received a pay rise from £190,000 per week to £250,000, with a further £37,500 per week in potential bonuses. - Martin Ødegaard – £240,000
Ødegaard is Arsenal’s captain and has a salary that reflects that status, with £240,000 per week, which can rise to £300,000 per week of bonuses. He signed his current terms in September 2023, two years after his transfer from Real Madrid became permanent, and they are valid until 2028. - Declan Rice – £240,000
Rice quadrupled his salary when he joined Arsenal from West Ham in 2023, going from a salary of £60,000 per week to one worth £240,000 per week. The England midfielder has established himself as a key player for Arsenal, where he is under contract until 2028. - Viktor Gyökeres – £200,000
The striker Arsenal selected to lead their new attack this summer, Gyökeres signed a deal worth £200,000 per week after joining from Sporting CP. Gyökeres could also earn an additional £50,000 per week in bonuses over the next five years of his contract, as he aims to prove himself as the upgrade needed in north London. - Bukayo Saka – £195,000
The biggest success story from Arsenal’s Hale End academy in recent years, Saka has blossomed into one of their most inspiring players and will soon be rewarded with a deal worth close to £300,000. Until then, Saka is on the £195,000-per-week deal he signed in May 2023, which itself was an increase from his previous £70,000-per-week terms. - Gabriel Martinelli – £
180,000 Martinelli hadn’t even played top-flight football in his native Brazil when Arsenal signed him from Ituano in 2019, so understandably he wasn’t on a high salary to begin with, but he has adapted well enough at the Emirates Stadium to get better deals over time, recently going from £70,000 per week to £180,000 per week in February 2023. - Eberechi Eze – £180,000
Eze was Arsenal’s most expensive signing this summer, costing up to £67.5 million to sign from Crystal Palace. The attacking midfielder earned £100,000 per week at Selhurst Park, but received an increase to £180,000 per week – which can rise to £225,000 per week with bonuses – by joining Arsenal. - Benjamin White, Gabriel Magalhães and Noni Madueke – £150,000
It’s a three-tier tie for first place in 10th place on Arsenal’s current list of highest-paid, with summer signing Madueke matching defenders White and Gabriel at £150,000 per week (the Brazilian’s bonuses are bigger). By the way, that’s about the same level Raya is expected to reach when he signs his new deal.
