Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid takes a dramatic turn – negotiations with Brazil “paralyzed” amid rumours of a surprising new job.

According to Spanish AS, the Brazilian Football Federation put an offer on the table that makes Ancelotti the world’s highest-paid national team coach with around 10 million euros in annual salary. The Spanish media reports Thomas Tuchel, with his around 6 million euros in annual salary as England national team coach, is currently the highest paid.

Ever since Real Madrid’s exit from the Champions League, it has been on the cards that Carlo Ancelotti would leave the club and take over Brazil’s national team. But now things have taken a dramatic turn.

It was read and decided that Ancelotti would be parted ways with Real Madrid shortly after the Copa del Rey final against rivals Barcelona.

But now this doesn’t seem to be true, as Ancelotti is still in charge of Real Madrid after the 3-2 loss to Hansi Flick’s side – leaving questions about his future at the club unanswered.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, this is due to Ancelotti changing his mind at the last minute to accept Brazil after travelling to London on Monday to sign his contract with the five-time world champions.

Despite initially confirming that he would sign the contract on Tuesday, Marca reports that Ancelotti has now decided not to take over as Brazil’s national team coach and has informed Ednaldo Rodrigues, the president of the Brazilian Football Federation, of his decision.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season

Instead, it is now believed that Ancelotti could stay at Real Madrid through the Club World Cup, and will not take on a new job until August. It is said that he is considering a huge offer to train in the Saudi Pro League.

The Saudi Arabian contract will reportedly give the 65-year-old coach a staggering sum of €50 million per season plus generous bonuses – making him the world’s highest-paid coach ever.

Later reports from SportsZone claim that Al Hilal is the Saudi Arabian club chasing Ancelotti’s signature. They hope to use him as a key to persuade Madrid star Vinicius Jr to join them in a deal worth €800 million this summer.
