The mood in Como is far better after yesterday’s 2 – 0 win over Roma. The club from one of Italy’s most beautiful and richest areas has ambitions for more 15th place in Serie A.
This summer, Arsenal legend Cesc Fabregas became permanent manager after taking the necessary coaching education. – It has been a tough autumn after Raphael Varane, who arrived from Manchester United in the summer, was injured and retired from football.
Dele Alli was spotted in the stands during a match in Italy where “contact confirmed” over a potential transfer.
“There’s a chance he’ll start training with us after Christmas.”
Dele Alli will start training with a new club at the end of this month, according to reports, after he was spotted at their last game alongside some Hollywood A-listers and his girlfriend Cindy Kimberly.
The 28-year-old, who is currently without a club, has been training with Everton as he continues his rehabilitation program following a series of injuries, including a persistent groin problem that required surgery.
Alli hasn’t played a game since February 2023, when he played for Besiktas in a 0-0 draw against Antalyaspor, but there is a chance he could play in the not-so-distant future for Serie A side Como.
The former Spurs midfielder picked up the 2-0 win over Italian giants AS Roma on Sunday night when late goals from Alessandro Gabrielloni and Nico Paz secured a dramatic three points.
After being spotted in the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia stand alongside Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Adrien Brody, Como manager Cesc Fabregas addressed the situation.
Fabregas said in his post-fight press conference for Alli: “I got to know him yesterday. I don’t want to talk much about this, but maybe there’s a chance he’ll start training with us after Christmas.”
He added, “Let’s see. That would be to help him get in shape and nothing more. For now, we have to enjoy this evening. We have to talk about Como, Gabrielloni and the boys. This is the most important thing.”
Italian journalist Nicolò Schira would later suggest that Alli join Como at the end of December to train and get fit.
Alli is determined to play at the highest level again. In fact, he has a daily reminder set on his phone that says a lot about his determination to make it happen.
Speaking on Monday Night Football in April, the midfielder opened up about his ambition to play for England during the 2026 World Cup.
After making several appearances at U17 and U18 level, Alli amassed an impressive 37 caps for England between 2015 and 2019, where he played in the Euro 2016 and 2018 World Cup.
“I talked about it in my interview and don’t want to go over it too much again – but I know my level as a player and what I can get to,” he told Sky Sports.
“I know how good I can be when my head is in the right place and I feel good. Obviously, I’m disappointed with the injury right now, but I’m excited to play.
“It’s hard for me to watch football at all. It’s been tough for me, I would say, the last eight months have been hard to watch.”
Alli then touched on his decision to set a daily reminder on his phone for 11 o’clock.
He added: “You know you can set reminders on your phone, I have a reminder at 11am every day that says ‘World Cup 2026’. That’s my goal for now. I think people will say ‘he hasn’t played for a year’, but I don’t care, I know my level.
“The only goal I have is the World Cup right now. I’m obviously injured and I’m under contract with Everton, so my mind is just about taking it day by day and making sure my injury is healed and I’m in the best possible condition after the summer.
