It’s not easy to keep up with João Félix’s career. Declared a genius as a teenager, brought to Atletico Madrid for an astronomical €127 million in 2019. The La Liga club never got back on their investment, loan to Chelsea without convincing, loan to Barcelona without impressing, then the totally surprising permanent signing with Chelsea. And then send the Portuguese on loan to AC Milan this winter. Now it looks like the 25-year-old Felix chooses the “easiest way out” for the big cash prize.

Benfica have been heavily linked with Felix for the past month, but now the hyperactive transfer journalist Romano reports Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian club have entered into a deal with Felix for a transfer.

The 25-year-old collects monster wages, Chelsea collects 30 million euros, plus bonuses. A long way from the transfer fee of around €51 million to Atletico in 2024, but in addition, the Premier League club has secured a significant resale clause, reports Romano.

Then we will see if Chelsea bring in any future sales revenue through the resale clause, or if Felix ends his career in the “Ronaldo League”.
