Chelsea entered the Premier League season as “the best club in the world” after their success in the Club World Cup this summer. Two wins in the Premier League, but a draw against Palace, the same against Brentford and a loss against Manchester United, bear little resemblance to the next Premier League champion so far. After the defeat at Old Trafford, where goalkeeper Robert Sanchez picked up a straight red card before ten minutes had elapsed, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher points the finger at three players who are dragging Chelsea down.

So much so that “Chelsea can’t win the Premier League for 100 years with these three players in the team”. Carragher’s job is to make headlines, but Chelsea fans will see that the English Premier League legend has a point, when he points the finger at a starting eleven with goalkeeper Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana.

“I think the manager has done a brilliant job since he got there. He came in his first year and got a Champions League ticket, he has done brilliantly by taking PSG to the Club World Cup. My criticism of Chelsea is the three and a half years as a club and how they can still have that team. We say they have no chance of winning the league and Chelsea fans know that,” Carragher warmed up on Sky Sports.

-You go back to when Chelsea won the league, look at their goalkeepers: Petr Cech and Thibault Courtois. It tells you everything you need to know. There is nothing wrong with Maresca, but after these years they go to Old Trafford with the goalkeeper and centre-backs they have. They can’t win the league for 100 years, with the standard of the players in those positions right now,” Carragher grumbled.

Now the three are not going to keep going for a hundred years, but we get the point, Carragher. Yes, Chelsea supporters, what do you think?
