This has been confirmed by the current president and co-owner, Todd Boehly.
In recent years, the world of football has undergone a tremendous modernization at an architectural level. Several teams have chosen to build new stadiums or sports facilities that meet the demands of the time and offer all kinds of innovations.
The latest team to follow this trend is Chelsea. The London club previously planned to move to a new stadium. These redevelopment plans included a budget of £500 million and a stadium with a capacity of 60,000 spectators. The project was launched in 2015, when Roman Abramovich was still the owner, but was shelved three years later.

The next game at Stamford Bridge is on April 3. Then Chelsea, who are fighting with their backs against the wall to keep 4th place in the Premier League, will take on Tottenham, who are really struggling this season.
A little about Stamford Bridge:
Stamford Bridge has been Chelsea’s home since 1905, when the club was founded. The stadium, which was originally an athletics track, has undergone several renovations and has a rich history. During World War II, it was used as a target for air raids, and in the 1970s and 80s it was in disrepair before being renovated in the 1990s. With a current capacity of around 40,000 spectators, it has been an iconic venue for English football.
Chelsea’s current owner, Todd Boehly, to move the club away from Stamford Bridge, specifically to Earls Court.
“I think we have to think long-term and about what we are trying to achieve. We have a great opportunity for stadium development that we need to take advantage of,” Boehly told Bloomberg.
Still, he admitted the difficulties of finding a new home:
“In terms of sports infrastructure, we are on the front line of the sports wave. We have between 16 and 20 years to solve this. In London, the situation is very complicated. It’s not like we’re building something in the middle of a rural area.”
In addition to a possible stadium move, Boehly also spoke about his management and the negative comments he has received since taking over Chelsea:
“Criticism is normal. The sooner you learn that you can’t make everyone happy, the sooner you’ll have freedom. So you don’t have to live according to their words.”
Finally, he commented on the club’s current and past transfer policies:
“You can’t turn left and then right every three minutes. It is difficult to find the players we want. You won’t find them in the store.”
