In the summer, Maresco came into blissful chaos at Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino had done a solid job, but the squad was once again filled up in the summer transfer market, where the Chelsea management’s plan to sell more players did not go as planned. Now Chelsea are getting ready for a new round of sales. Maresca does not bother to hide which players are first in the sales queue.
“There are players who unfortunately didn’t play much with us in all the competitions, like Chilwell, like Carney. They are probably the first to want to change clubs, because they work every day and want to play. If they don’t play, they’re probably thinking about leaving. Every player has a different situation, so we’ll see if someone knocks on the door and says I want to leave. We will try to find a solution,” said Enzo Maresca before Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.

Chilwell has a lot of experience in the Premier League and was previously linked with Manchester United this summer, but his reported salary of £200,000 per week puts him out of reach for most potential buyers. Chukwuemeka would be a more affordable option, and the 21-year-old has previously attracted interest from Barcelona and AC Milan.
The first two players for sale have been singled out.
