Manchester United are strongly considering a €50 million bid for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk, according to a sensational report from Spain.
The Ukrainian international is currently suspended from all football activity following a positive doping test at the end of 2024, and he could face a four-year suspension from competitive sports.
The 24-year-old last appeared in the matchday squad in the 3-0 win against Aston Villa on December 1, where he was an unused substitute.
Updates on the Ukrainian international have been few and far between since the news of his positive doping test broke in December.
It had been reported that the result of his B-sample was expected back in January, but there has been no news and it is now mid-March.
Mail Sport has provided an update on the Ukrainian and stated that he has not yet been charged by the FA and is provisionally suspended.
The report also adds that Chelsea are believed to have given Mudryk an individual programme to stay fit as he is not allowed into the club’s Cobham training ground.
Despite this, Manchester United are closely monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge, and they are planning to take action this summer, according to Todo Fichajes.
The Spanish online newspaper claims that Manchester United have “set their sights on” finalising a deal for Mudryk, and Ruben Amorim’s side are expected to make an offer of up to €50 million during the 2025 summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old player is seen as the perfect candidate to fit into Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. With Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho potentially on their way out of Old Trafford this year, the Red Devils appear to be considering a possible deal for Mudryk, despite his challenges at Chelsea.
However, Bayer Leverkusen have also been linked with a signing of Mudryk in recent weeks, suggesting that Manchester United could face unexpected competition for his signature if they decide to push hard for a deal this summer.
The Red Devils have also been heavily linked with Tyler Dibling and Victor Osimhen as they look to bolster the attacking options available to Amorim.
Mudryk still has a full six years left on his current contract with Chelsea, and his challenges since arriving in England suggest that Chelsea will have a hard time finding a buyer.
The Ukrainian player has scored just 10 goals in 73 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side, and Shakhtar Donetsk appear to have pulled off a fantastic transfer deal when they persuaded Chelsea to pay an initial €70 million to sign him in January 2023.
