Former Chelsea, Arsenal and England star Ashley Cole is scheduled to embark on his first managerial job.

45-year-old Ashely Cole is one of the foremost left-backs in modern football history, having played for clubs such as Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Roma, LA Galaxy and Derby County.

In total, the Englishman played 702 games and scored 21 goals.

He also lifted three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups and one Champions League, among other trophies. – On the international stage, Cole was awarded 107 caps for the Three Lions.

After retiring as a player, Cole moved into coaching and had stints at Derby, England U21, Everton and Birmingham City.

Cole also served as an assistant coach during Lee Carsley’s temporary tenure as boss of the Three Lions. – Now it is reported that Cole is ready for his first managerial job.

As reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Cole is set to become manager of Serie B club Cesena FC.

Cesena recently sacked Michele Mignani, with the team currently sitting eighth in the Serie B table. They are one point behind seventh-placed Juve Stabia.

Since their last victory, a 2-0 win over Pescara on February 6, Cesena have lost to teams such as Virtus Entella, Venezia, Spezia U19 and Monza.

They have also drawn against teams such as Empoli, Modena and Frosinone.

Cesena are back in Serie B action next week when they face Mantova at the Municipal Stadium/Danilo Martelli on Tuesday night.

In an interview back in December 2025, Cole stated that the coaching journey has made him a better person.

He said, “I had a long, good career, and it was, you know, a couple of things. To give back to football, which gave me a lot. Trying to help and develop people and creating the new Ashley Cole, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira.

“You start teaching people. You know, is he angry? Is he mad? Is he sad? Is he super happy? Through coaching, it has given me that ability to read people a little. Something that I think in the long run will make people better. So I’ve definitely learned how to become a better person through my coaching journey.”
