There are four Premier League clubs that are in the running for Chelsea legend Thiago Silva as he looks at the possibility of a return to Europe.

After four years at Chelsea, experienced defender Silva chose to leave Stamford Bridge last year after his contract expired. He went home to Rio De Janeiro and signed for free for Fluminense.

Thiago Silva, who is now 41 years old, has won most things, but not the Premier League or the World Cup.

Despite previously talking about his plans to retire at his childhood club, recent reports have claimed that Silva will soon leave Fluminense prematurely and that he has already said goodbye to his teammates.

And now it has been reported that Silva could make a spectacular return to the Premier League.

Silva signed for Chelsea in 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain when he was already 36 years old, but became a key figure at the club and lifted the Champions League trophy with the Blues in 2021.

In total, Silva played 113 Premier League games and kept a clean sheet 32 times during this period.

Although he moved back to his hometown of Rio, his children remained at Chelsea to continue playing for the club’s academy. Because of this, a report from Globo Esporte has claimed that Silva is looking to return to Europe, preferably to an English club, so that he can be closer to his family.

And if he is to return to England, it is a London-based team that has the best chance of signing the 41-year-old, with West Ham United, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford said to be the favourites.

Other reports in the Italian media have linked him to a return to his former club AC Milan, while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that options are available in the Middle East or MLS.

However, it is still uncertain whether Silva will continue his playing career or retire after an incredible career.

However, with the World Cup coming up next summer, Silva could be interested in signing a short-term contract in a bid to earn a spot in Brazil’s squad for the tournament.
