He was brought to Stamford Bridge in 2023 as the most expensive player in Premier League history. Chelsea owner Todd Boehly didn’t bother to wait to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, paying the buyout clause of €120 million plus €1 million. The Argentine world champion has shown some of his potential, but the supporters are still waiting for more. Real Madrid want this “more” to come at the San Bernabeu.

In the last month, Fernandez has been heavily linked to Real Madrid, when it became clear Luca Modric is done after the season, this has increased in strength. Spanish media claim Fernandez “loves” Madrid and eager to play at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Before the last Premier League game for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca answers questions about Real Madrid’s advance. The answer should leave no doubt about what is happening.

I have nothing to say about the speculation – his focus is with us, and that’s the most important thing,” the Chelsea manager said, according to the BBC.
