There were more than Bodø/Glimt who had a bad Tuesday in the Champions League. – Chelsea also met the overwhelming power at home at Stamford Bridge.

The star player has been a key piece in Chelsea’s success this season, but now it looks like he may have had enough.

Chelsea are in danger of losing one of their best players after the dramatic Champions League exit against PSG. On Tuesday night, the London team lost 8-2 on aggregate.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea hosted reigning Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg, with little chance of progressing after losing 5-2 away in the first leg.

Unfortunately for Liam Rosenior’s men, they failed to create a sensation. Goals from Khvitsha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Senny Mayulu ensured a 3-0 victory for the visitors.

And it could get even worse for Chelsea supporters. Shortly after the end of the game, one of the team’s biggest stars hinted that he could leave the club in the summer.

Fernandez: ‘We’ll see’

Since the start of the 2025/26 season, few players have been more important to Chelsea than Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine has 12 goals and six assists this season.

But after the loss to PSG, he did not want to talk about his future at the club. To ESPN, he said:

“I don’t know. There are eight league games left and the FA Cup. Then it’s the World Cup, and after that we’ll see.

Fernandez has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs before the summer, while other rumours claim he is considering extending his contract with Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has a contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2032, and there has reportedly been talk of an extension in recent months.

If he disappears, it will be a massive blow to Rosenior, who has been dependent on his vice-captain on several occasions this season.

When asked about Fernandez’s statements in the press zone after the game, Rosenior was tight-lipped:

“I haven’t seen it. To be honest, it’s hard for me to speculate after this fight. I have to focus on the most important thing.

Which clubs want Fernandez?

Chelsea paid over £100 million for Fernandez in January 2023, and with six years left on his contract, it will cost a fortune to sign him away from Stamford Bridge.

Therefore, only the richest clubs in the world have a chance. Both Real Madrid and PSG have been linked with the Argentine in recent months.

But it is not only European big clubs that are showing interest. Two Saudi Arabian clubs have also reportedly contacted the player.

Although it is considered unlikely that the midfielder will leave for Saudi Arabia, a massive contract could still tempt him if he decides to leave Chelsea in the summer.
