Okay, Lautaro Martinez is a sparkling attacking player who has delivered over time in Serie A and the Champions League, but we couldn’t help ourselves. During their 61 minutes at Aspmyra, the Bodø/Glimt defense made sure to deny Inter’s top scorer a goal. Now they are fighting hard to secure the Inter captain in the summer transfer window, and it will come at a cost.
A few seasons back, Martinez was halfway to the Premier League, but the Argentine ended up staying and extending his contract with Inter. The interest in the striker with 171 goals in 370 games for one of Italy’s best clubs in recent years is not surprisingly high among the big clubs in the Premier League.

This time, it is reported that Chelsea have decided on Lautaro. The London club made a push in 2024, but without success. Chelsea have also been linked with the 28-year-old in January. According to Inka Fichajes , the Premier League club have now signalled they are preparing a €100 million bid for the Inter captain, with the Argentine himself sending signals that he is ready for new challenges.
Then we will see if it will be Chelsea who tempt Lautaro Martinez to the Premier League. The prerequisite is of course that the club can offer a Champions League ticket. In the last three years, the Argentine has been in two Champions League finals – only to be knocked out by Bodø/Glimt before the round of 8. Needless to say, being out of the CL next season is out of the question for the 28-year-old.
