Sunderland sign Alderete
Sunderland continue to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League. Newly promoted Sunderland are now signing centre-back Omar Alderete, 28, from Getafe. Fabrizio Romano announced this on Monday.

Contract until 2029
The contract with the Paraguayan runs until June 2029, according to Romano.
Getafe bought Alderete from Hertha Berlin two years ago, after a year on loan. He made 99 appearances for the Spanish La Liga club.
Ten new signings this summer
Sunderland have already brought in ten new players this summer. In total, they have spent 141 million euros, about 1.57 billion kroner, according to Transfermarkt.
