Midfielder Hugo Vetlesen plays for one of Belgium’s best teams Club Brugge, but there is a little too little playing time for the former Bodø/Glimt player. – Down an agreement that runs until the summer of 2027, something will happen during the course of next year.
The 25-year-old has been on the bench several times throughout games this season, and if he does come in, it is often in the second half of the game. Club Brugge, who are in 2nd place in the Belgian league, welcome Antwerp at the Jan Breydelstadion tomorrow Sunday, and if things go as usual, Hugo Vetlesen will start on the bench.

The first year at Club Brugge was very good, which caught the interest of several clubs both in England and Germany, but now it is slower.
There will be some exciting windows ahead.
A bit of storytelling
Vetlesen started his football career at Haslum, before he went to the neighborhood’s Stabæk as a 12-year-old. He signed his first first-team contract on March 31, 2017, and made his debut in the Eliteserien already on April 2 of the same year. This made him the first player born after the year 2000 to start a game from the start in the Eliteserien.
On March 9, Vetlesen extended his agreement with Stabæk until the end of the 2021 season. He scored his first Premier League goal for the club on 5 August 2018 in a match against Sarpsborg 08.
In the autumn of 2020, Vetlesen changed club to Bodø/Glimt, and in the summer of 2023, he signed a contract with Belgian Club Brugge that lasts until the end of the 2027 season.
At national team level, Vetlesen has represented Norway in several age-specific classes. He was selected for the U19 European Championships in Finland in 2018, and the following year he participated in the U20 World Championships in Poland.
On November 8, 2022, he received his first selection for the national team for the matches against Ireland and Finland. He made his debut for Norway against Finland on November 20 of the same year.
Although he was originally selected for the U21 European Championship in 2023, he had to report his absence for the tournament. On September 7, 2023, Vetlesen scored his first national team goal for Norway in a match against Jordan.
