National team manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has chosen not to select Victor Nilsson Lindelöf for the World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Kosovo. As the national team manager says to Expressen: “He is very upset, and I am very upset”.

The 31-year-old, who has been a Manchester United player since 2017, did not get his contract extended and has been without a club since June 31 this year. Goalkeeper David de Gea, who went unemployed for a year after his contract with Manchester United expired in the summer of 2024, has found his way back to form and mood at Fiorentina, now he wants to help Victor Nilsson Lindelöf to the club.

The centre-back is now in direct talks with the Serie A club and it is expected that they will reach an agreement very quickly. Lindelöf wants to get back into action quickly so that he can once again contribute for Sweden. – In the summer months, he has, among other things, stayed in shape with the superettan club Västerås SK, where he grew up.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Nilsson Lindelöf’s representatives are in talks about a “surprise transfer” to Fiorentina.

The Italian club want to make a transfer and have sent David de Gea out as a vanguard to plumb the mood and tempt a signing.
