Genoa Cricket and Football Club confirms today that they have hired Patrick Vieira.
Patrick Vieira’s career was incredible. He became legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s most important card and to this day, when a well-paid lecture is to be given, Wenger highlights how he discovered and refined one of football’s most elegant players. In 2003/04, the Frenchman was part of the Arsenal team that went unbeaten through a Premier League. He won a total of three PL titles with the London club in 405 games, as well as the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Championship.
Vieira also played for Inter Milan, Manchester City, Milan, and Cannes during his career, which he ended in 2011. He then moved into a coaching role in Manchester City’s academy.
Now he takes over Genoa, who have sacked coach Alberto Gilardino after a dismal start to the season, they are in 17th place after twelve games played.
