In the winter of 2023, Rosenborg brought in the Danish right winger, who can also fill roles in midfield from Sonderjyske for just 100,000 euros.

Rosenborg, who have started the season in excellent fashion with a provisional second place in the Eliteserien, have done so without David Nielsen, who was loaned out to Danish AC Horsens during the summer break.

Head coach David Nielsen confirms to the Danish football newspaper Bdold that they have an option in the loan agreement that expires in the summer.

Emil Frederiksen has lifted himself significantly and with his nine goals and seven assists in 25 games has undoubtedly been a win for AC Horsens.

Initially, the 24-year-old player is supposed to return to Norway when his loan deal expires in the summer, but it is not impossible that he will stay in Horsens.

The club’s head coach, David Nielsen, says in the wake of the last game of the season against Hvidovre that they have secured an option in the deal with Rosenborg. I know we have an option on Emil, and I’m sure that Esben (Hansen, ed.) will take care of that part of the case.

For Rosenborg, Emil Frederiksen has so far played 27 games, and it is far from certain that there will be more.

Bold has previously reported that Frederiksen is not part of Rosenborg’s future plans, which opens up for a permanent transfer to Horsens if they choose to exercise the option.

The Danish club will probably consider the matter carefully after a very impressive season from the young striker, who has established himself as a key player in Horsens.

The decision is expected to fall in the next few weeks, after Horsens’ sporting management has had the opportunity to assess the budget framework for the coming season.
