Strømsgodset was relegated to the OBOS-League after an incredibly lackluster season, a bright spot was 21-year-old Marko Farji who now not unexpectedly brought in something bigger. He has been in the Drammen club for a long time (2016) and says on the club’s pages that Strømsgodset is his club. Marko is not happy with how 2025 unfolded: “It’s been a hell of a year, but I’m grateful for the trust I’ve been given by both the club and the supporters
It hurts to leave a club I love very much at this time, but I have great faith that the club will be promoted straight back up, and I will continue to follow as a supporter. After all, Godset is my club.

I also want to say thank you very much for everything I have experienced, and all the help, support, love I have received since I came here as a 16-year-old. Godset is a fantastic club to develop in, and I have learned a lot as a player and person through my time here.
Strømsgodset have sold their star player Marko Farji (21) to Italian football, and although the sum is not yet public, Venice have been trying to secure the left winger for a long time and made several increasing bids.
Marko Farji has for a long time been wanted by several clubs, both in Norway and abroad.
On Thursday afternoon, TV 2 could reveal that Strømsgodset and Venezia had reached an agreement on a transfer for Farji.
Marko Farji says to Venice who are fighting for promotion to Serie A’s sides:
“It is a source of great excitement and pride for me to join Venice FC. I can’t wait to step out on the pitch in front of my new fans and feel their passion for such a historic club with a unique charm. I will give everything I have to make this fanbase proud of the team. I chose Venice because right from the start I felt a solid, ambitious club with excellent facilities. Representing an extraordinary city like Venice is a great honor. The team plays high-quality football and I can’t wait to make myself available to the manager to start this new journey together.”

Last year, he contributed with nine goals and four assists from his winger position for Strømsgodset, who were eventually relegated to the OBOS league.
He has also been given an important role on the Iraqi national team. Farji started in Iraq’s last two World Cup qualifiers in Asia, and this year it could quickly become championship football. Iraq will play playoff matches in March, where a place in the World Cup next year is at stake.
