Crystal Palace perhaps used a club record to sign Norwegian striker Jørgen Strand Larsen for €49.5 million in January. The London club is in a safe margin above the red line in the Premier League, while Larsen’s old club, Wolverhampton, despite being in a good period, is still in last place.
If Crystal Palace are to play with the big boys, they need to continue to invest and that should be the plan.

The Eagles have moved away from a relegation battle in recent weeks and are now ten points ahead of West Ham above the relegation zone, while also securing a place in the quarter-finals of the Conference League last week with a win in injury time against AEK Larnaca.
However, the club are already preparing for major changes at Selhurst Park as Oliver Glasner is expected to leave the club when his contract expires, while Jean-Philippe Mateta is also expected to leave after his January signing to AC Milan fell through, and now a target to replace him in the squad has emerged.
Crystal Palace target Jonathan Burkardt
Palace signed Larsen in the January window, and the Norwegian has scored three goals in ten games for the club. He has also regularly been favoured over Eddie Nketiah, who has struggled with a number of injuries since his move from Arsenal, and the south London club are now planning to add another attacking player to their squad.

According to Sports Boom, Eintracht Frankfurt star Jonathan Burkardt has become a target for Premier League clubs, including Palace, as they look to add more goalscoring danger to their squad.
Burkardt, who has been described as “clinical”, has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Bundesliga club this season, playing in a more advanced attacking position than his usual role as an attacking midfielder.
Frankfurt do not want to lose the 25-year-old German in the summer, but they accept that he is not “untouchable” in the squad and an offer of around €45 million (£39 million) would be enough to convince them to sell.
Crystal Palace have already made contact with his representatives to explore interest in a deal, and it is understood that they are preparing a concrete bid to try and bring him to the Premier League.
